Volunteers are involved in virtually every aspect of society including health, education, social services, youth, sports and recreation, culture, the arts, and the environment.

There are countless ways to volunteer and thousands of organisations across Ireland looking for help. Interested in becoming a volunteer? It’s easy to get started – browse volunteering opportunities near you on I-VOL, the national database of volunteering opportunities and listings. Alternatively, on the same platform, you can look for roles that can be done virtually, or as once-off roles!

I-VOL is the national searchable database of volunteering opportunities in Ireland and is owned, managed and administered by Volunteer Ireland and the network of Volunteer Centres across Ireland, including Offaly Volunteer Centre. By signing up, you can register your interest in volunteering opportunities that are listed online by community groups across the county and country. When you first register on I-VOL, your application will come to us.  Once you have initially registered on I-VOL, you will be able to begin applying for roles that are active on the I-VOL database.

When you apply for a volunteering opportunity, your relevant details (as per our terms and conditions) will be forwarded directly, or via your local Volunteer Centre, to the organisation posting the opportunity.  You will receive an email each time you apply for an opportunity, acknowledging your indication of interest, and giving you further details of next steps. It’s important to note that we are forwarding your details to the local community group and you should expect to hear from them – but if you don’t, please revert to us so we can follow up on your behalf.

When you click on "Register to Volunteer", you will land on the I-Vol page to do so.
